Savoyard Toasts with Beaufort is a delightful appetizer or snack originating from the Savoie region in France. These toasts feature slices of crusty bread topped with Beaufort cheese, a firm, raw cow's milk cheese renowned for its nutty and buttery flavor. The bread is usually toasted until the cheese melts and turns golden brown, creating a savory and rich treat.
Often, the toasts are enhanced with additional ingredients such as garlic, herbs, or thin slices of cured ham, adding extra layers of flavor. Savoyard Toasts with Beaufort are perfect for enjoying with a glass of wine and are a wonderful representation of the simple yet exquisite culinary traditions of the Savoie region.
