Gnocchi gratin with tomato and basil sauce

- 600 g Gnocchi
- 5 Tomatoes
- 2 balls of mozzarella
- 1 carrot
- 1 garlic clove
- 4 tbsp. tablespoons olive oil
- Sprigs of basil (a little)
- 1 pinch Espelette pepper
- Salt
- Pepper
- Rinse the tomatoes and cut them into cubes. Peel the garlic and chop finely.
- Peel the carrot and cut it into slices.
- Heat the olive oil in a pan and add the tomatoes, carrot slices, garlic, chilli, salt and pepper.
- Cover and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
- Cook the gnocchi according to the time indicated on the package in a pan of boiling water. Drain.
- Place the gnocchi in a baking dish. Drizzle with sauce.
- Add the cubed mozzarella on top and pass under the grill for a few moments to brown the cheese.
- Serve hot sprinkled with basil.
